The Stud Sports Doctor -- Welcome Doc Scott!

CM Teammates, here’s another special guest blogger joining us tomorrow – Dr. Calzaretta – aka Doc Scott. He’s ranked as one of the best of the best when it comes to sports medicine; he’s trained and treated folks from pro sport teams to Olympians to even the Rockettes (lucky bastard!); he’s a certified Titliest golf trainer, a black belt in Karate and has started six sports medicine clinics – yep, he’s a stud, and we’re honored that he’s a member of the Team Perfect’s advisor team. Feel free to fire questions his way.

Enjoy learning how to improve your body’s performance.

HOOYAH DOC SCOTT!

  1. Doc, you gotta help me. The guilt is killing me. Moments ago, I canceled my 3X Perfect Power order. The nice people at PerfectPushup.com gave me a free month’s supply, so I dutifully swallowed 3 pills the next day and saw no perceptible difference in the size of my muscles. I said to hell with it – it’s snake oil. Okay, I’m exaggerating. I actually took it for 2 days consecutively. Seriously, what happened was, I took it for a couple of days, then got to thinking: Wait a minute. What if I lose my income and become homeless? I can go to a soup kitchen, and the government might help me with shelter. Obviously, I will carry my Perfect Pushup gear in a big bag along with the rest of my belongings as I stand on the street corner with my WILL WORK FOR FOOD sign. (I would never go anywhere w/o my Perfect Pushup, trust me.) But these are hard times, Doc. I can’t buy this supplement forever, can I? Should I?

The customer service lady on the phone seemed so nice. Did I tell you the guilt was killing me?

  2. I'm a female. A year ago I severely injured my rotator cuff. After months of therapy, I was able to avoid surgery, gain mobility and get medical clearance to return to the gym. I'm still leery of re-injuring my shoulder.

What movements should I avoid, and what training do you suggest for strengthening that area?

Currently, my push-ups are limited to a standing angle on a Smith machine, or a modified push-up with the lower body balanced on a fitness ball for less stress to my shoulders. I would love to be able to work up to regular push-ups.

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

  4. I'm sticking w/ three squares a day unless this doctor tells me I really need a supplement.

I also try to avoid refined sugar.

Doc, fyi, I am a very active 49-year-old white male.
