Jim's Fitness Journey: Part II

Before I turn the spotlight over to Jim K, a sensational athlete -- and great communicator -- from Greece, I have a challenge for you: sign up for the weekly fitness challenges on our Perfect Fitness Facebook fan page. Jim's journey to Navy SEAL fitness levels demonstrates the power of having a "swim buddy" -- a fellow fanatic to show the way! Every week Perfect Pushup users challenge each other to take their workouts to the next level. AMM Back to Jim --

"A few years later I got to high school where kids were much more competitive. One summer I started doing pushups and abs to improve my overall condition. Maybe the form wasn't correct but at least I was trying! At that point I'd started going fishing with my dad where I'd row for quite extended periods of time, and I begun to realize that exercise wasn't actually so bad even though the palms of my hands would get sore with blisters and tears from extended rowing periods on a heavy wooden fishing boat.

Even without an exact workout or strict exercise pattern I kept food intake at normal levels; the big change came when I got to college where I became friends with a guy (John) who probably was "the ultimate fighting machine" on campus. He was seriously involved in weight lifting, kick boxing and various martial arts and showed me organized workouts either for weight lifting or calisthenics. I owe him big for all his good advice. This also led to further weight loss and I have managed to maintain this weight ever since (probably I could use an extra 1-2 kg though)!

So there I was, I had managed to shed weight (those extra 4-5kg) and would hit the gym almost daily making steady progress until one day I came across on the internet Navy SEAL fitness books."

MMA Max's Perfect Birthday Present

Guest blogger: MMA Max

Every so often we get an email at Perfect Pushup that just shouts out for a blog -- Max's letter was one of them! Be sure to check out Max's website and blog -- and listen to his radio show. Hooyah that the Perfect Pushup is working for you Max!

CHARLIE MIKE -- ALDEN

"Alden -- Thank you for creating The Perfect Pushup!

After hurting both my wrists shooting .45 (S&W) when I was in a Guard unit, I could not do push ups without intense pain in my wrists. It got so bad that doing the push ups were not the problem BUT overcoming the intense pain was!

I tried my hands in every position and still no luck. Hell I even tried putting my hands on 2 x 4's and still the pain. I left the Guard unit after Flight 800 ( Long Island NY- July 17, 1996) That was the last times I did any PT. When I got back into Karate and Boxing, THE PAIN came back also. Pain, pain, pain, did I say Pain?

Last night for my Birthday, I got your Perfect Pushup as a present. When I tell you I got excited enough to rip the box open and I had to try them out, it is a completely gross UNDERSTATEMENT!. Your Perfect Pushups was a want and also a need. The very first Perfect Pushup I did, it has been years that I have not felt the pain. I put 'em aside and did a regular push up and I felt the pain -- for the last time!

Come to think of it, I can't remember what else I got for my birthday! I think so highly of your product, I am adding a link from my MMA site to yours -- NYMMA News. Thank you again for a great product!"

Monica Lovato, Champion Boxer and Mixed Martial Artist

Guest blogger: Champion Boxer Monica Lovato

"Being a professional female boxer and a mixed martial artist with a wrist injury isn't the ideal situation especially in this age of competition. The Perfect Pushup has allowed me to still incorporate pushups in my training. The fact that it replicates the natural punching motion gives me an added edge in my training and has actually made my wrist, arms, back and other muscles stronger than ever.

I now can honestly say to myself "what wrist injury" as the Perfect Pushup has made me a stronger fighter all around. I continue to improve with the Perfect Pushup."

Charlie Mike Teammates, if you have questions for Monica, fire away!

Mixed Martial Arts fighter Donald Sanchez on the Perfect Pullup

Guest blogger: Donald Sanchez

The Perfect PullUp has been an awesome addition to my training. During the training for my recent fight my number of pull ups improved by ten reps and I've never felt as strong walking into the cage.

Training is basically an art of its own in which you have to balance mastering skills & techniques with strength & conditioning while at the same time focusing on a game plan and being mentally prepared. The Perfect Pullup has helped a lot with my physical training: I became addicted to the Perfect Pullup within minutes of installing it.

Here's a heads-up to Charlie Mike Teammates: on February 26th I'll be fighting Joe Boxer at the San Manuel Casino for the King of the Cage crown -- it will be on PayPerView in March.
